This custom server was built on the X99 platform. It has dual Xeon-E5 2695 v4's, 128 GBs of RAM, an Nvidia Quadro ___ , and a Sata HBA card with 5 22 TB HDDs
This Server runs on Proxmox with one VM for TrueNas Core, which has the HBA card passed through to it so it can have a full control of the drives and create a ZFS pool.
Another VM has Ubuntu on it and runs this website. The rest of the VMs are for a variety of different operating sytems which include Windows Server 2022, PFsense, CentOS, and others.
My Custom PC build was built on the AM4 Platform. It is on a Gigabyte x570 Motherboard, has a AMD Ryzen 5900x CPU, 96 GBs of DDR4 3600 MHz Ram,
an Rtx 3080 GPU, Dual M.2 Drives, an 8 TB Segate HDD, and an added 2.5 GB NIC for faster data transfer speeds
Using a Raspberry Pi 3B+, I was able to put pi hole and wireguard on my home network. This allows me to use the pi as a DNS server and have network-wide ad-blocking as well
as a VPN into my home network when neccessary with the added bonus of also having ad-blocking capabilites when doing so.
Using an old HP z240 SFF workstation, I installed ubuntu on it and ran PLex Media Server to host my own media. The server has an added 2.5 GB NIC for faster data transfer speeds.
I have NextCloud running on my TrueNas VM as well as on a VPS which backs up to each other and makes the data accessable even when the home server goes down.
